Chris Senecal, the owner of Graphix101 LLC has been involved in the print & design industry for over 18 years. Starting at a small thermographer who printed business cards, envelopes and letterhead, he learned first hand and in the field how print production worked. After learning how "ink hit paper" he spent time learning various applications and more importantly industry concepts on both PC and Mac platforms.
Around 2001 he began working for a large format and trade show graphics output house inLeominster, MA. Once again spending time to learn the machines involved in the process and the differences in file prepared for large format vs. standard sized commercial print.
Wanting to travel less he took a job managing a small print and copy shop in Swanzey and worked in all aspects of the shop from design to bindery work. After that he worked for a design and print brokering firm in Marlborough, NH where he worked designing direct mail and print brokering. This led into a long term project designing and pre-flighting files for commercial packaging. This project took extensive knowledge of the Pantone color system, Adobe Illustrator file manipulation, and was a chance for him to apply the real world knowledge he gained actually watching presses run and checking output vs. what was expect from digital files.
After this he went out on his own with a small but loyal client base. It was only a short time later he had the opportunity to buy out a company (one he had formerly worked for) of their large format equipment. And so Graphix101 was born. Originally meant to be a pun about the location (on Rte. 101 in Marlborough, NH) and the starting place for a course of study. The name stuck, though the location changed. We're still a great place to start your graphics journey, but we are now located in Jaffrey, NH
